Everton, Liverpool look to make EPL moves

Fri, Sep 30, 2:43pm by Staff Writer

Everton should continue their march up the Premier League table when they host Crystal Palace in the opening match of round seven on Friday local time.

Despite suffering their first loss of the season last week at Bournemouth, Ronald Koeman’s Everton side will be bolstered by the news that Romelu Lukaku has recovered sufficiently from an injured toe to start the match.

Crystal Palace dramatically won its third league game in a row at Sunderland last week, but are still paying $4.80 to win on the William Hill board.

Everton, in a three-way tie for third on the EPL ladder, are paying just $1.72 for a win with $3.80 on offer for a draw.

Also Friday, fellow Merseysiders Liverpool are the heavy favourites to take the points when they head to Swansea.

In-form Liverpool are one spot ahead of Everton on points and manager Jurgen Klopp’s only dilemma is whether to start returning defender Dejan Lovren or stick with Ragnar Klavan for the encounter against the Welsh side.

Swansea are paying a tempting $8 for a win, with just $1.42 for a loss and $4.50 for the draw.

Manchester United are six points behind home-town rivals and league-leaders Manchester City, but are still the unbackable favourite to turn its season around and beat Stoke City on Saturday.

The Red Devils could theoretically climb to the second on the ladder with a home win over Stoke and other results go their way.

William Hill is paying just $1.30 for a United win, with Stoke paying a whopping $11 and $5.50 for a draw.

Manchester City are expected to have a much tougher match when they travel to London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

With four wins and two draws, Tottenham are just two points behind City but has the better defensive record.

City is paying $2.30 to retain its perfect record this season, while $3 is on offer for a Spurs win and $3.50 for a draw.

Also Sunday, third-placed Arsenal are the short price favourite to win away at newly-promoted Burnley

Arsenal, in the middle of a five-game unbeaten streak – including four wins – are at just $1.36 to win, with Burnley on $9 and $4.80 for a draw.

Chelsea have a chance to move into the top-five with a win on Saturday.

The London club has had a mixed start to the season, winning three games and losing two, but are favourite to take the points at $1.50.

Hull are at $6.50 to take its third win of the season, with $4.25 on offer for a draw.

In other games Saturday, last-placed Sunderland are slight favourites to beat West Bromwich Albion at home, paying $2.45 to $3.10 for the Birmingham side and $3.10 for a draw.

Watford are paying $2.30 to defeat Bournemouth at home, with $3.20 for a loss and $3.25 for a draw, while West Ham United are on $2.15 to edge Middlesbrough at $3.50, with $3.30 for a draw.

Reigning champion Leicester are a $2.25 to take the points when they host Southampton, with $3.30 for a loss and $3.25 for a draw.
