The Gold Coast Titans can reap the rewards of not playing until Monday Night Football in Round 21 and solidify their positon in the top eight. Their opponents, however, are formidable foes in the form of the currently all conquering Cronulla Sharks. 15 wins in a row have set a huge precedent of just how good this current Cronulla squad is. They will be looking to maintain their charge to the Minor Premiership and put a speed bump in the way of the Titans finals hopes.
A loss for the Broncos on Friday night has opened up the possibility of the Titans chasing down 6th place on the ladder but they must overcome the odds in order to do so with William Hill pricing a Titans victory at $2.75 in comparison to a Sharks win at $1.45. Gold Coast’s form may well not be to the heights of their opponents but they themselves are in the midst of a two match winning streak and head into this fixture full of belief that they can be the ones to end Cronulla’s golden run.
With the addition of a margin to a win, William Hill continues to hold Cronulla as favourites to win and by a big margin (13+ points) which is priced at $2.55. A close win for the Sharks of 1-12 points stands at $3.10. The Titans odds rise severely with the addition of a margin with 1-12 points at $4.35 and a 13+ points win at $6.50. A draw stands at the usual price of $26.00.
Valentine Holmes heads up the favourites on the 1st Try Scorer and Match Winner Double priced at $9.00 for him to score and Cronulla to claim victory. Ben Barba and Sosaia Feki match each other at $12.00 to repeat the same feat and the Sharks to continue their winning run. Nene Macdonald and Anthony Don are inseparable at $22.00 to score first and the Titans to win. Whilst also having the dubious honour of being favourites to score first and Cronulla to go on to win the match at $18.00.
Those star try scorers can be pitted against each other with William Hill offering odds on who will score the most tries and Sosaia Feki is matched up against Anthony Don with the Cronulla man favourite priced at $2.75. Don from the Titans stands at $3.75 with a draw between the two at $2.25.
When Nene Mcdonald and Valentine Holmes are placed head to head by William Hill, it is once again the Sharks player who is favourite to outscore his opponent. Holmes is priced at $2.50 a significant lead on Nene Mcdonald at $3.25. A tie between these two is at $2.45.
Both of these sides will be desperate for victory on Monday Night Football. Despite a hugely impressive winning streak the Sharks have still been edged by the Melbourne Storm for top spot in Round 21 and need this win to reclaim the position. Whilst the Titans will be looking to take advantage of the Broncos loss and the Warriors close fought win over the Panthers to cement their place in the top eight.
