After losing their fourth straight game, as well as their head coach, things don’t get any easier for the Los Angeles Rams this week. They head Seattle to face the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football’ in what could be another big defeat.
LA are coming off a big 42-14 loss at home against the Falcons which was their third loss in a row by at least 16 points. Their coach, Jeff Fisher was fired less than 24 hours later, forcing special teams’ coordinator John Fassel to take over as the interim head coach just three days before having to play the best team in the NFC West.
A win for the Seahawks would make them the first NFL team to clinch a division title and they are 15-point favourites against Los Angeles. It’s the biggest betting line for any game this year, and the over/under of 38.5 is one of the lowest in 2016.
Sportsbet has installed the Seahawks at the almost unbackable odds of $1.08 with the Rams at the huge odds of $8.75 to pull off what would be a remarkable upset. As mentioned, the line is at 15 points.
As they continue their freefall, the Rams could be hard-pressed to stay competitive with a team that know a win could earn them a first-round playoff bye.
Seattle are very difficult to beat at CenturyLink Field and they are seemingly unstoppable against bad teams. The Seahawks defeated the 49ers by 19 points earlier in the season and looked even better when they dominated the Carolina Panthers by 33 points at home two weeks ago.
If they can produce anything like that night against Carolina a fortnight ago then this one will be over early.
