The heat has been turned up quite literally in the MasterChef kitchen. The final four contestants have only got a few more chances in the kitchen before the judges decide who will win the popular show. Elena, a teacher from Noosa is the favourite to take home the trophy and the cash prize of upwards of $250,000.
In fact, 49% of punters who placed a bet through Sportsbet have their money on Elena, the woman who appears to have pinched Maggie Tabberer’s 1980s hairline.
Matt is the second best backed and not without a chance at $2.75. Harry is the youngest contestant at just 21 years of age and is priced at $6.00 while parfait princess Elise is the most unlikely to win at odds of $11.
It looks like the title will be a race in two with Matt and Elena really standing out in the competition to date. There is plenty on the line for the victor as last year’s winner Billie McKay received a new job working for international celebrity chef, Heston Blumenthal. The restaurant manager from Ballina in NSW impressed the judges so much she was hired on the spot to work at famed UK restaurant, The Fat Duck.
“There’s only so many times you can serve up a parfait or a panna cotta so Elise’s chances don’t look great but Matt and Elena have really stood out throughout the competition and we’re predicting it’ll come down between the two of them,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
The MasterChef final is next Tuesday.
