The #1 Resource for aussie gambling!

NBA Midweek Best Bets and Aussie NBA wrap

Wed, Nov 2, 10:53am by Jake Equid

The NBA announced on Tuesday that that the first-ever NBA Awards Show will take place in New York City on Monday June 26, 2017.

Televised exclusively by TNT in America, the show will feature current and former NBA players, coaches and celebrities.

Back on court and a quick whip around the league to see how the Aussies have started the season.

Patty Mills has started the season well in San Antonio, after scoring 11 points and dishing out five assists off the bench against Golden State on opening night, he started in the Spurs home opener against the Pelicans and finished with 18 points before backing it up the following night in Miami with 18 more.

Next up he plays the Utah Jazz, who have two Aussies of their own, Dante Exum’s return from injury has been promising, he finished with 10 points against the Clippers, while Joe Ingles had 8 in the same game.

Matthew Dellavedova’s move to Milwaukee has started well, he’s averaging 11 points and 5 assists. Being the team man that he is though, he wouldn’t be happy with the Bucks start of 1-2.

Delly’s teammate, number 10 draft pick Thon Maker, hasn’t seen much court time, he was on court for just 95 seconds on debut against Detroit and finished with a solitary rebound. The club are obviously easing him into his rookie season.

Now it’s time to get into our selections and as we’ll do continue to do at australiangambling.com.au, we’ve picked out the three best bets for the coming days of NBA action.

Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics

TD Garden, Boston –Thursday November 3, 11:00am AEDT

TV: Live on ESPN2

The Bulls head to Boston to meet the Celtics for the second time in six days after defeating them 105-99 at home. That loss was the only slip-up for the Celtics so far.

Despite the result just last week, Sportsbet has the Celtics at $1.66 to turn the tables on the Bulls ($2.27) now that they are back on their home floor.

The Celtics have a good recent home record, winning six of their past season at home. Isaiah Thomas has started the season well, averaging 24 points and almost seven assists while Avery Bradley is averaging 21 points and eight rebounds.

The Bulls have been one of the most impressive teams in the opening week as the offence (averaging 113 points), lead by Jimmy Butler (20 PPG) and Dwyane Wade (16 PPG) has been excellent. The Chicago Bulls have won five of their last seven road games and I’m backing them to make it six from eight here.

BEST BET: Bulls to win: $2.27

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Clippers

Staples Centre, Los Angeles –Thursday November 3, 1:30pm AEDT

TV: Live on ESPN2

Two undefeated teams clash at the Staples Centre on Thursday AEDT. A win for the Thunder will see them reach their first 4-0 start since the 2011-12 season while the Clippers are looking for back-to-back 4-0 starts.

Sportsbet have installed the Clippers as red-hot favourites at $1.32 with the Thunder at the juicy odds of $3.55.

OKC are averaging almost 110 points so far this season, with a whopping 38 of them coming from five-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook. Helping him out is Victor Oladipo, who is averaging 17 points and 3.7 rebounds.

The Clippers are at the comfortable confines of the Staples Centre for their third-straight game the duo of Blake Griffin who’s averaging 22 points and Chris Paul (20 PPG) will be out to keep their perfect record intact.

The Thunder haven’t had a very tough start to the season, beating subpar teams like the Suns and the 76ers, largely thanks to Westbrook. This is a step-up in class and I’m going to take the Clippers at home in the 1-10 points bracket.

BEST BET: Clippers to win by 1-10 points: $2.39

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Golden State Warriors

Oracle Arena, Oakland – Friday November 4, 1:30pm AEDT

TV: Live on ESPN2

Undoubtedly, the biggest grudge match of the next few days and even the entire season is this one, which sees Kevin Durant, who played 10 seasons at the Thunder, meeting his old club for the first time as a Warrior.

Durant’s new team are at the short-priced odds of $1.11 with Sportsbet with his former team at the huge odds of $7.20.

The man of the moment, KD is averaging over 31 points and 10 rebounds with his new club while last season’s MVP, Steph Curry is not far behind with 25 points per game.

As mentioned in the last preview, Russell Westbrook (38 PPG) is dominating for the Thunder in the absence of Durant. He will need another huge game to keep his team in the match against the squad that is now being called the ‘Dream Team’ by many pundits.

The Warriors haven’t been perfect so far, dropping their opening game at home to the Spurs and I’m taking the Thunder to get within the large line of 11.5 points here.

BEST BET: Thunder to cover the line (11.5): $1.91

MULTI OF THE WEEK: Combining all of the below for $10.36 at Sportsbet

Bulls to win: $2.27

Clippers to win by 1-10 points: $2.39

Thunder to cover the line (11.5): $1.91
