It’s a rivalry that’s been played out more times than any other in the history of the NFL, 192 times to be exact, since 1921. The NFC North divisional contest means a lot to the fans and although they are not close on the standings, there’s more to this one than meets the eye.
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers don’t seem to be the Super Bowl contenders that many thought they were entering the 2016 NFL season. After losing by a big margin (14) at home to Dallas on Sunday, the team looks to right the ship in this one.
Chicago is tied with for the NFC’s worst record at 1-5. They blew a 13-point, fourth-quarter lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and they visit a Green Bay team that they’ve had trouble beating in the last few years. It’s their offence that is the issue, they sit dead last in scoring.
The Bears were able to pull off the upset in the last meeting between the teams, winning 17-13 at Lambeau Field. Prior to the contest, Green Bay had defeated Chicago in 10 of their last 11 tries. Packers quarterback Rodgers seems to be struggling more now than ever though after being thoroughly outplayed by his Cowboys counterpart, rookie Dan Prescott last week.
Green Bay are the better team and should be able to win at home but nothing has been easy for them this year. All three of their wins have been decided by one score and none of their victories have come against a team with a winning record. This could be another close one. I’m going to take the Bears to cover the line.
